Service Description
The humidity-sensitive piano action requires meticulous adjustments to the depth and pitch of each key, in addition to lubricating the pivots and thoroughly cleaning the keyboard bed. I then make hundreds of delicate adjustments to the action. Here are the adjustments. (In order) Adjusted the pitch and depth, as well as reaming all keys (88 notes). Positioned the bridges. Aligned the hammer path. Tightened all the action screws. Adjusted the upper bridge lever on (grand piano only). Positioned the escapement stick (grand piano only). Adjusted the height of the hammers at rest. (After-touch) grand piano only. Adjusted the hammer escapement. Adjusted the escapement and repeat springs. Adjusted the hammer return after contact with the string. Adjustment of the dampers mechanism if necessary. Seating the strings on the bridges. Leveling the strings before tuning. Complete tuning of the piano (Equal temperament at 440 Hz). (Other temperament on request). Complete harmonization of the hammers for the sound timbre. Cleaning of the mechanism and the interior of the piano. Cleaning of the soundboard (grand piano). Adjustment of the pedal board. Polishing or cleaning of the cabinet. Maintenance of the Dampp Chaser system if necessary. This may require changes to parts of the piano action, especially older or damaged pianos. In this case, a restoration of the parts is necessary, including the replacement of parts of the mechanism, changing strings or hammers, in order to put the piano back in good working order. It is advisable to contact me by email or phone to obtain a detailed quote with the greatest possible precision. Rates are available upon request. Payments can be made in cash or by Interac transfer.
